Are You Puzzled?

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

1 Corinthians 14:33

The Gateway team was praying together when the Holy Spirit gave me a picture. We were praying about some of the things that have been happening around the world with the coronavirus and racism and the subsequent violence. There was so much to process.

In the midst of this, I saw a large crossword puzzle. As I looked at the first clue, I saw that Jesus was the answer! As I looked at the second clue, again Jesus was the answer! As I looked at all the clues ‘across’ the puzzle, Jesus was the answer every single time.

What was more amazing was that as I began to answer the ‘down’ clues, Jesus was the answer to the first, second, third, and then all the others! Even more amazing was the fact that when this large puzzle was solved, Jesus was the answer to every single clue and all the answers fit in perfectly with one another! There was absolutely no disparity and the Name ‘JESUS’ fit every answer perfectly in every way. This was an amazing picture in the midst of the current confusion and chaos. Jesus is always the answer.

Are you confused? There have been times of confusion in my own life. For a period of time, I suffered from debilitating headaches that left me exhausted. One night in the middle of my pain, I cried out to the Lord for healing. He heard my prayer and healed me! That was many years ago and I have never had another headache.

As a young woman, I found myself as a single parent on a very limited income doing my best to make ends meet. As a student of Larry Burkett (Christian Financial Concepts), I continued to tithe my small income. As I sat down to pay my weekly bills, there was always enough to cover exactly what I owed. It was truly the widow’s oil being filled over and over again. I was never late with one single payment because the Lord provided for all my needs.

These are just a few examples of how Jesus has been the answer to some of my personal puzzles. As the years go by, I can see that He truly “causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

The struggles facing the world today are unprecedented. This picture showed me that Jesus is the answer – nothing is too big or too difficult for Him. I don’t know exactly how these situations will be resolved in the end. But I do know one thing for sure – JESUS is the answer. “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
